Prices And Styles Of Homes For Sale In Maryland Vary Widely

By Larry Wilson

Residents of Maryland come from all walks of life and choose where they purchase homes for many different reasons. Some work in the nation's capital and need the best possible commute. Others love the water and sailing. For them Annapolis can be a perfect location. Still others choose the large urban area surrounding Baltimore to call home. If you are relocating to this historic region, the choices of homes for sale in Maryland can be overwhelming.

Living in Baltimore can be expensive unless you look around for a good deal in an up and coming neighborhood. This is a city full of beautiful old homes on the National Register. You can start home ownership more modestly if you know how to remodel and make simple home repairs. A little condominium with cosmetic issues can be bought for less than the cost of a medium priced car.

Buyers who are looking for something more traditional and with less maintenance should be able to tour a number of Baltimore neighborhoods offering three and four bedroom houses, with modern appliances, in the range of three to four hundred thousand dollars.

For those who enjoy sailing, Annapolis is a perfect spot. Families who want to move into a new home in a good area will probably have to spend over five hundred thousand dollars, but you can find four bedroom, baths homes with two and three levels, gourmet kitchens, fireplaces, and two car garages for the money.

On the Annapolis waterfront, there are a number of properties for sale that will take your breath away. Many of these exclusive estates are over a hundred years old and are only available to a privileged few. The majority include at least twenty or so secluded acres with private beaches and access to the river.

People who relocate to Washington often prefer to live outside the district to give them some feeling of a smaller city atmosphere. If you've got the financial resources, you can choose a home in the Bethesda area which is close to the capital but outside the hectic international activity. You have to be able to spend at least a million dollars if you want to live in comfort here.

If you are not especially interested in owning a detached single family home and are willing to look at condos in Silver Springs, you can find something nice and secure for about two hundred twenty-five thousand dollars. Many include private balconies, vaulted ceilings, and open floor plans for the money.

This is a beautiful part of the country and one a lot of individuals swear by. They will tell you that living here is exciting and a wonderful place to enjoy the changing seasons. Where you finally purchase a residence depends on the career you have and the lifestyle you prefer.
